A New Chapter: Overcoming Hearing Loss

In my upcoming book, I share a small part of my tough journey. I boldly announce, "AND SO SHE HEARS!" Facing many struggles due to years of denial, my life was overshadowed by shame, stigma, and vanity caused by my hearing loss. This led me to a place of confusion and sadness, isolating me from the world and changing my once lively life.

Dealing with this new reality, I encountered obstacles that made my usual coping methods ineffective. I had to accept the changes, mourn the loss of my old self, and face a significant transformation that felt like it was snuffing out my identity. One pivotal day at work changed everything when a coworker's silent greeting made me realize the truth.

After this revelation, I started a new phase in my journey - confronting and overcoming my hearing loss. I am thrilled to share that I will be launching a book and a program designed for Black women like me who are struggling with hearing loss. Titled "And So She Hears," this story will highlight my path to empowerment and extend a helping hand to those facing similar challenges.
