Welcome to Valecia’s Blog

THIS IS WHAT HEARING LOSS LOOKS LIKE!!!

Hello, I'm Valecia, and I live with sensorineural bilateral hearing loss. Embracing the use of hearing aids and closed captions has transformed my daily life, especially when enjoying TV shows. While my journey with hearing loss presented challenges, I took the pivotal step of seeking support well into my 40s. Today, I proudly serve as a hearing loss coach, peer mentor, advocate, and author. Equipped with certified training from Gallaudet University, I actively contribute as the Vice President of the Hearing Loss Association of America, Los Angeles chapter. Recently, I published my debut book, "And So She Hears, A Short Story of a Black Woman’s Journey with Hearing Loss.

I am thrilled to introduce you to my special offering: the "Walk it Through, Talk it Through Sessions" designed to support women in navigating their hearing loss. This session could be just the breakthrough you've been looking for to boost your confidence and embrace your hearing loss with open arms. I am here to guide and assist you every step of the way.

Discover more about my work on my website, Empower and Hear. Your generosity towards my non-profit supporting Women of Color with vital resources and assistance is invaluable and warmly welcomed. Thank you for considering to be part of this empowering journey!
